Hiding the fat belly in jeans
Hiding the fat belly in jeans
Believe it or not there are hundreds of clothing combinations for hiding a fat belly. Let’s face it you are working hard, you are dieting, you are cutting out bad foods, etc, etc, etc, but you still have to go out in public. Until you obtain the desired look, you have to hide that fat belly. There are several ways to hide the fat belly in jeans. My mother learned the hard way years ago that you have to watch what you wear. She was wearing jeans and not the type she should have been wearing at the time in a local mall. She went into the restroom and found a young girl pregnant and throwing up. Being a nurse, she asked the young lady if she was okay. The young lady looked at my mother, thanked her for her concern and assured her she was okay. To my mother’s horror, the young girl then asked her when she was due. Believe it, my mother has no desire to have more children, but the jeans gave the appearance. First, you might try wearing darker jeans that have a wide leg cut. If the jeans have any designs, make sure they are parallel with the body and not horizontal. Consider throwing in a longer cut shirt and stay away from any light colored jeans and tight fitting jeans. The second thing you can consider is girdle or girdle type jeans. Some jeans are being made with a built in girdle. This will give the illusion that you are slimmer and that the exercise program is working. Stick with a wider belt in your jeans. The belt can give the illusion of a tighter fit and it can hide that fat belly from view. This doesn’t mean go with an “Elvis” wide belt. Keep it tasteful. Finally, some women are starting to consider maternity jeans. These jeans come in a variety of sizes. They stretch in each size range some and most are designed to support a baby belly. Well, face it. That fat belly is kind of like a baby belly and you might as well use the technology. As for people who don’t know you, let them wonder when the baby is due. They will think you are just pregnant. Another technique and one of my favorites is to buy jeans one or even two sizes too big. On the first few days wear your tight jeans. After everyone has seen you in them, for the next few days wear the size just above your tight jeans. Don’t worry; it will still be tight too. Finally, after a few more days put on those jeans that are one size or two sizes too large and listen to what happens. People will come up to you and say things like, “Wow, you sure are losing weight,” or “You’re looking great and slimming down.” Compliments will vary with this technique, but on the other hand no one will be asking you when you are due.
